Compass Construction awarded Lee/Hendry Composting Facility project.
CAPE CORAL, FL (June 2009) – Lee County has awarded Compass Construction the contract for the construction of a new composting facility at the Lee/Hendry County Solid Waste Disposal Facility, located at 5500 South Church Road in Felda, FL.
Construction consists of creation of a yard waste receiving area, an active composting area with 6 pre-engineered fabric covered buildings with power ventilators, and a curing area with water storage tanks crushed concrete and storm drainage, and storage area.
The $3.6 million dollar facility is currently in the preconstruction & permitting phase.
Jim Smith of Compass Construction will serve as Project Manager for the project, and Erin Olsen will be the Project Administrator.
